Mothers Day Camp out

The past 3 years we have gotten together with Anthony's cousins and gone camping in May.  My kids really look forward to this event and I love to watch them become instant friends with their 2nd cousins who they only see once a year.  They spend time riding 4-wheelers, playing in trailers, just being dirty little kids and loving every minute of it.  Big thanks to Epp for always coordinating this event!
Savannah and one of her favorite girls Sarah.
Nothing better then eating dinner on the ATV.
Except maybe eating in an old cedar tree.....

We can always count on Kaitlen to be watching out for this little one, camping or not. :)

Got Meat?

I've been out of town the last 4 days visiting family for Mothers day, we had a great weekend and got a lot done.  This morning I went to get some Eggos out of the deep freeze only to find that they were quite soft, upon further inspection I discovered that the freezer was left unplugged (by me, accidentally) for days maybe even a week!  Those who know my husband know he is a hunter thus a freezer full of Elk, Deer, a little beef and pork...... I quickly called Anthony at work to tell him the bad news half way expecting him to get mad at me for forgetting to plug the freezer back in but in true Anthony form he simply said, "its ok, just wait until I get home form work and I will help you clean it up." Me, "but you should see all the meat we are going to have to throw away! I can't believe it!" Anthony, "well that's just life, don't worry about it"  That was that, he and I just got done cleaning up 6 inches of blood in the bottom of our deep freeze and bags of rotten meat.  No blame was made and no angry words said.  When I grow up I want to be just like my husband.

The years fly by

I love this picture of Savannah, she was only 3 years old and in 2 short months she will be 8.  It makes me sad to think of my kids growing up, I will miss them but at the same time I look forward to seeing the people they will become.  Being a mom is an interesting job; it has its ups and downs, in fact Isabelle is having a melt down right now.  There are days (almost everyday) I just need a break, an hour or two to regain my perspective on why it is I choose to be a stay at home mom, and that these little spirits were sent to me to teach and inspire.

I am so grateful that I get to spend everyday at home with these little people; I hope and pray everyday that I will do a good job and teach them all that they need to learn and understand.  I feel like I fall short most days but one of my new favorite quotes is by President Monson; "Life by the yard is hard, but life by the inch is a cinch" We just have to remind ourselves to take it one day at a time and continually strive to be a little better each day.

Lizard Hunt

Anthony's family always went on lizard hunts while he was little and he is actually quite good at catching them.  While in St. George last month we went on a little lizard hunt and the kids had a ball.  I LOVE that my kids enjoy being outdoors as much as I do.  To all you animal lovers out there don't worry we catch and then quickly let the little guys go.... :)
